We have to cancel Drew's ear tube procedure. UGH. He went in again today to get more labs done. This time they took 6 vials. Poor kid. He was weak after. He didn't cry, just whimpered and glared at the lab techs. We went to see Grandma at work and took a walk in the sunshine afterward- a little sun can help:)
We do not have the immuno/allergy lab results back yet (unsure what he is allergic to that I fed him), but his platelets continue to be within normal range. They checked for many other blood and clotting disorders. So far they have all come back normal, just waiting for 2 more. His pedi actually called me 3 times tonight as each lab came back- she is going on vacation, and I think is frustrated we do not know the cause of all this. We will just wait for the other two tests to come back, then pending it is normal, we will wait until the 13th to go to Childrens. On a good note, they think they have ruled out any bone marrow problems. Well, they didn't say that in those words, but she has reassured us that the platelet counts being normal is a good sign.
His pedi did suggest that maybe he has some type of autoimmune vasculitis. We will let the specialist figure that one out.
